About Red Poppy
Red Poppy is a small floral design studio – we emphasize thoughtful design and accept only a few events each weekend to have plenty of time and attention for each. It’s small scale – you’ll work directly with Tracy throughout the design process, and she’ll work closely with you to create flowers for your celebration.
Hi, I'm Tracy and I’m so proud of the floral designs that we create.
For me it all started when I trained in professional floristry at the Jane Packer Studio while living in London and working as an economist. Floral design was my evening hobby, and I never expected it would become a business... but it did! I slowly started doing flowers for friends and family while working in research at the University of Michigan, and then Red Poppy grew. Now Red Poppy is my busy little business, which I balance with enjoying our 2 young children.
We design everything in my in-home studio with an emphasis on beautiful, natural elements, lush textures, elegant simplicity - letting the flowers and foliages speak for themselves.
It's small scale - so we take 1-3 events each weekend, and I'm very hands on with each order. It's important to me to have the time to plan and execute each design as best as I can. I want plenty of time to ask questions and really understand what each client loves, and plenty of time to spend hours on that bridal bouquet to get it just perfect! Your flowers are important to me, and I do this because I love it.
Process & Pricing
New clients have an initial consultation, either in person in Ann Arbor or by phone/facetime, for around an hour. We discuss design elements for the day, the overall look/feel for the event, and how flowers can best compliment. We look for images together (or use inspiration you’ve brought – pinterest boards, etc.) to help guide the design process. We discuss particular blooms and foliages for the designs, numbers of pieces and logistics for delivery/set-up and any other coordination. We’ll also ask for your target budget range during this consultation – we have flexibility about size, scale, quantities and varieties of materials to use, and knowing your style and budget helps us put together our best proposal for you. We then create a custom floral design for you, which usually takes around a week to complete. A 50% deposit is required to book your date.
Bridal bouquets start at $250 and up (most of those featured on the website are $300-$400), and bridesmaids bouquets are usually 1/2-1/3 the bridal bouquet price. Boutonnieres start at $15 and up, and corsages at $25 and up. Centerpieces start at $125 and up (most of those featured on the website are $150 and up) and tall centerpieces start at $250 and up. Mini centerpieces start at around $60.
We offer full event services, with set-up, delivery, and collection of rentals on-site in the Ann Arbor area, with delivery available to Metro Detroit for larger orders. There may be a minimum order required for delivery and set-up during peak season. We also offer self-pick up in Ann Arbor for bouquets and boutonnieres only or other smaller orders. Whether large or small, each order gets our attention to design and detail, and we look forward to working with you to create something special!
