I am so grateful for these beautiful images from Heather Jowett - this was such a lovely wedding, wonderful families to work with, and it just makes me smile so much to post these images.  The ceremony was at beautiful St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and the reception at the lovely and historic Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor.  Gorgeous hair and make-up by the talented ladies of Imagine Three.  It was a perfect autumn day for these two! Pure joy!  And I love these adorable handbags!

The wedding flowers were a bright jewel-toned palate that was both seasonal and sophisticated.  The bride's bouquet featured orange, burgundy and fuchsia dahlias (sourced locally), white ranunculus, blue anemone, peach juliet garden roses, blue viburnum berries and green viburnum opulus.

It's always so lovely working with the Gandy Dancer - lovely, elegant cake!

Here are the last wedding bouquets of 2013!  And we just got a perfect dusting of snow, just in time!  The bride's bouquet featured huge white polar star roses, burgundy dahlias, and green succulents.  The bridesmaids' flowers included silver brunia berries, lavender ocean song roses, dusty miller foliage and burgundy carnations.  Yes, bringing carnations back!  These were the perfect shade of burgundy and give it almost the soft look of a peony, but a fraction of the cost.  The right tones, used in the right way, carnations are winning me over!

Here's just a quick snap of this weekend's autumnal wedding bouquet!  I loved the colors and textures that this bride chose - seasonal and autumnal, but also sophisticated and creative - the bouquet featured a handmade paper flower made by a friend of the couple!  The bouquet also included burgundy dahlias, peach juliet garden roses, silver brunia, lavender ocean song roses, white matthiola, and alchemilla mollis.  It was a pleasure as always to work with Luna Soiree at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor for this wedding!  

Just a quick post today with a snapshot from a sweet centerpiece for a wedding reception at the Baronette Renaissance hotel in Novi.   This lovely couple wanted a jewel-toned, contemporary splash of color to add to the modern and sophisticated ballroom at the Baronette Renaissance.  I just snapped the quick photo before delivery - can't wait for the pro photos from Precious Memories Photography! The arrangement included blue anemone, purple hydrangea, white polar star roses, geranium foliage and ruscus foliage

This delivery was awesome!  These centerpieces were for a corporate dinner in the boxes above Michigan Stadium, in the Jack Roth Stadium Club.  It was a fantastic view - what an amazing space!  I can see how this would be a fun and memorable, and at the same time very elegant spot for a special party or wedding reception.  Let alone how neat it would be to see a game from up there! For this corporate event, I used the businesses' colors of silver and white, and we wanted to keep the flowers from being too feminine.  The rectangular vase is a painted silver ceramic, and the arrangement includes white hydrangea, green succulents, blue eryngium, and green geranium foliage arranged neatly for a professional feel.  Thank you to Katherine's Catering for including me in this event - it was beautiful, delicious, and well-organized, as always!

Lovely dusty lavender, deep amethyst purple and white centerpieces for a wedding reception at the Michigan League Ballroom.  These centerpieces included ocean song and little silver roses, white hydrangea, purple lisianthus, and white polar star roses.   I am so looking forward to the pro photos by Linda Wan - I know they will be gorgeous (and so much better than my quick snaps!)

I couldn't believe these 'little silver' roses - mere spray roses - each stem had several blooms nearly 2" across and fully open.  They looked fresh from an English Garden!

Ahh...  as dahlia season winds down, I thought I'd share these vibrant beauties with you.  I've loved adding dahlias to so many wedding bouquets this season - they really add character and charm, and we can get some lovely ones locally here in Michigan!  So lovely, so happy, so perfectly simple.  

This made my kitchen smell fantastic!  Margarita, anyone?  Loved this modern vase with cut limes topped with soft white hydrangea and roses - a perfect accent at the bar in the gorgeous "Bubble Room" at Vinology for a rehearsal dinner.

Thank you Patrick Hadley Photography for these beautiful images of M & B's autumn wedding (and for more, see their blog).  For this sophisticated, modern, autumnal mix, the bouquets included magenta phalaenopsis orchids, purple dahlias, peach juliet garden roses, blue eryngium, and orange pincushion protea together with textured foliage.  M & B were married at Temple Shir Shalom in Bloomfield Hills and their lovely reception was at The Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth.  Such a beautiful celebration - congratulations!

So excited this bride chose a bright, cheerful bouquet for an autumn wedding at home.  And I loved how this orange chevron cotton twill ribbon from The Ribbon Retreat added the perfect fashionable complement with a hint of vintage- lovely!
