This palette of delicate greens and elegant white blooms was timeless and perfect simplicity. It was such a joy to get to create these for MS and P’s sophisticated celebration at the University of Michigan League Ballroom - so beautiful! Thank you Kerby Lou Photography for these beautiful images!
This was the time last year when the white lilac was in perfect bloom at just the right time. It was magnificent. Though we can often order lots of different flowers and materials, nature still has some special things that you can only really get locally and for a limited amount of time. So when you get one of those special things at the right time, it can feel that bit extra special - a little bit of magic.
And I couldn’t have been more happy for all of these beautiful things for Shannon and Michael. Everything about this day was joyful. Their friends and family were so fantastic and fun - I remember all during set up this group was just having a wonderful time - it felt like a celebration already and it was a joy to be a part of it.
Together with the lilac, these pieces featured anemone, garden roses, hellebore, orchids, ranunculus, astrantia - so many beautiful things! We had the most amazing chuppah by modernly events and I just loved the chuppah decor here. So many lovely accents in classic navy and art deco design details (those bridesmaid dresses!) and the cake! There is joy in every gorgeous picture by Matt & Ashley - there is not a one in the bunch where these two aren’t enjoying every minute. Beautiful, classic, joyful family celebration - it was such an honor to be a part of this very special day.

A perfect autumn day for a campus wedding at the Michigan League for Miriam and Daniel! It was a true joy to be a part of this celebration with so many personal and fun details at the Michigan League Ballroom and such a joyful group! Loved setting up the chuappah flowers for their ceremony in the courtyard garden and the mix of merlot and champagne tones with lots of texture in the flowers. Before we're officially into winter, I wanted to share the little shot of a favorite bouquet from this summer. This soft mix of lavender little silver roses, caramel antike garden roses, burgundy astrantia, seeded eucalyptus and queen anne's lace was such a sweet combination! I love putting together a mix of colors that's a little unexpected but still soft and elegant!
When Colleen and I first discussed her wedding flowers she said they were doing maize and blue, and wanted it to be a sophisticated and elegant version. They perfectly combined an elegant, classic aesthetic at the University of Michigan Museum of Art with fun, spirited touches of Michigan and Ann Arbor. And oh my goodness, that dress!! Colleen's bouquet featured white peonies, garden roses, freesias, pale yellow parrot tulips, and white cymbidium orchids with very pale yellow throats. Silver dollar eucalyptus and dusty miller added a splash of texture. Oh, that dress!
The reception centerpieces featured glass compote dishes filled with white hydrangea and freesia and pale yellow garden roses and white mini cymbidium orchids.
It is such a treat to share images of Christina and Michael's summer wedding, captured by Melanie Reyes Photography. I can't say enough great things about Melanie's work, and I can highly recommend her insightful, low-key photography classes in Ann Arbor. Christina and Michael were married at St. Mary's Student Parish and followed with a reception at the Gandy Dancer and some beautiful images on the University of Michigan campus, all on a gorgeous Ann Arbor summer day.
The brides and bridesmaids bouquets featured peach juliet garden roses, blush spray roses, pink romantic antike garden roses, white ranunculus, and textured foliage. The blush, peach, and white blooms complemented the navy blue wedding party dresses perfectly! And I always love creating a flower wand for the flower girl! For the reception centerpieces, we added a little more color with miss piggy and free spirit roses, burgundy astrantia and snapdragons, and queen anne's lace - all arranged naturally, in a garden-style, in a gold glass compote.
It was so nice to hear from Anna and Chris who were married last year at the University of Michigan Union. Chris asked for flowers reminiscent of Anna's bouquet for their first anniversary in May - what a guy! And they sent me these gorgeous images from their wedding by Lennon Photo. The bride's bouquet featured coral charm and white peonies, fuchsia and lavender freesia, peach juliet garden roses, and blue nigella, white the bridesmaids flowers featured coral charm peonies and peach parrot tulips.
Centerpieces for the University of Michigan Union Ballroom included coral charm peonies bursting open along with sweet-smelling local lilac.
The wedding ceremony was in the gorgeous Pendleton Room at the University of Michigan Union, and Anna walked down an aisle lined with white petals - she was just radiant!
